Finedon Dolben captain Chris Goode says his side need to formulate a plan if they are to turn around their batting misfortunes.

And they have the ideal opportunity to stage an improvement this weekend as they welcome defending champions Peterborough to Avenue Road.

In their last two outings, Finedon have been bowled out for 87 by Brixworth and 92 by Northampton Saints and Goode hasn’t been happy with his top order’s efforts.

He said: “We’ve been bowled out by two very good bowlers (Steven Crook and Corbyn Dolley) but that can’t be an excuse.

“When the ball is swinging or turning we need to work out how we’re going to play and we just haven’t done that.

“Ultimately it comes down to personal responsibility but there has been a lack of application which has got to change.”

Elsewhere in the top flight, bottom side Burton Latimer are at home to the Saints and the current pacesetters, Rushden, are on the road at Old Northamptonians.

Oundle travel to Milton Keyens to face Stony Stratford, Horton host Brixworth and Wollaston travel to Rushton.

In Division One, Geddington host Isham and Desborough welcome Finedon’s second string.

Old Wellingburians face up to Weekley & Warkton, Rothwell do battle with Irthlingborough, Loddington travel to Wellingborough Town and Old Northamptonians 2nd go to their Peterborough counterparts.
