Peterborough Town booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Hevey NCL Twenty Cup with a six-wicket defeat of Finedon Dolben at Bretton Gate on Tuesday evening.
In a repeat of last year’s final, the defending champions won with 13 balls to spare and tyey no stand one game away from a return to the County Ground for finals day on July 29.
After winning the toss and electing to chase in a contest reduced to 15 overs apiece, the hosts restricted Finedon to 92-7 with Bashrat Hussain (pictured) taking 3-6 from his three over stint.
There were few alarms in the chase with Alan Burton finishing unbeaten on 30 as the target was reached with 13 balls to spare.
Brixworth got the better of Division One outfit Isham at Orlingbury Road as they won on run rate.
The visitors made 169-2 from their 18 overs, James Lucas hitting 62 and Callum Berrill 41no, and Isham had reached 56-2 from 8.2 overs when the rain brought a premature halt to proceedings.
Elsewhere, Rushden won the all Division One clash with Geddington at Short Stocks by 20 runs.
The home team, led by Juanre Van Wyk who made a quickfire 34, posted 124-6 from their 14-over allocation, a total Geddington fell short of as they reached 104-7.
A number of the other ties were affected by the weather and will be played at a later date.
