Andy Daniels won’t be taking Horton House lightly when his Finedon Dolben side travel to Denton Road in the NCL Premier Division this weekend.

A look at the form guide wouldn’t give the home side much chance against the league leaders but Daniels, whose side lead the table by a single point from Peterborough, is refusing to take anything for granted.

He said: “They’re down near the bottom and need the points.

“I can’t see them going down and they’ve got some young lads who are good players but we’ll need to keep playing as we can.

“We needed that win last week (against Wellingborough) and I’m happy with where we are.

“We’ve played good cricket all year and we need to keep on doing that.”

Elsewhere, title challengers Peterborough are on the road at mid-table Northampton Saints while third place Old Northamptonians travel to Stony Stratford.

At the bottom of the table, Wellingborough, who are 41 points adrift of Horton, entertain Brixworth while Burton Latimer travel to Oundle.

The weekend’s other tie sees Wollaston play host to Rushton.

In Division One, leaders Rushden will be seeking to take another step closer to a top-flight return when they visit Loddington.
