The Northamptonshire batsman, who has made 15 ODI appearances for his country, will lead out his national team in his home town in a fixture that gets the international summer under way.

The game will be Peter Moores’ first as coach of England after he was re-appointed to the role following the resignation of Andy Flower after the Ashes defeat in the winter.

His first squad contains only one uncapped player in the shape of Nottinghamshire seamer Harry Gurney.
