Champions in town as Rushden face their stiffest challenge so far

Rushden’s excellent early season form in the Hevey Building Supplies NCL Premier Division will be put to the test this weekend as they entertain the defending champions.

Peterborough arrive at Short Stocks on the back of their first victory of the campaign against Brixworth.

But they will run into a Rushden side who have begun life back in the top flight with three victories on the bounce, the latest of which was a 118-run defeat of Northampton Saints.

Another side with a 100 per cent record are Finedon Dolben and they will be strong favourites to get the better of Brixworth who have lost their three outings so far.

Horton House make up the triumverate with perfect starts and they make the trip to Campbell Park to face Stony Stratford.

The other ties of the weekend see Oundle host Burton Latimer, Rushton welcome Old Northamptonians and Northampton Saints travelling to Wollaston.

In Division One, early leaders Geddington are on the road at Finedon Dolben 2nd and Weekley & warkton entertain struggling Rothwell.

Desborough welcome Old Wellingburians to West Lodge Park, Loddington are at home to Irthlingborough, Wellingborough Town go to Peterborough 2nd and Old Northamptonians 2nd host Isham.
