It doesn’t get any easier for Burton Latimer as they seek to move closer to Hevey Building Supplies NCL Premier Division safety.

The Hall Field outfit’s shock defeat of title-chasing Northampton Saints last weekend put a cat among the pigoens in the relgation shake-up with both Wollaston and Horton House now below Burton.

But they face a tricky trip to defending champions Finedon Dolben tomorrow and they will start the game as big underdogs.

Burton skipper Damon Hanney said: “We’ve got a tough run of games having played Peterborough and Saints and now we’ve got Finedon and ONs.

“Finedon will be hard – they are a very good side.

“But with the effort and application we showed getting a win against a side who are always in the top two or three, we know if we repeat that we can compete with anyone.”

Wollaston were put to the sword by leaders Peterborough last time out and they now have the task of visiting the wounded Saints who need to win to prevent their challenge from becoming derailed.

Peterborough welcome bottom side Horton to Bretton Gate for what looks, on paper at least, to be a home banker.

Elsewhere, the Old Northamptonians, who are up to third on the back of a good run of form, entertain Rushton while Stony Stratford, on the rebound from a bad defeat at Horton, are at home to Brixworth.

Saturday’s other clash sees the NCCC Academy entertain Wellingborough Town at Campbell Park.

In Division One, the pick of the fixtures sees Oundle, who moved to the top of the standings for the first time last week, visit Geddington.
