The Falcons have suffered narrow defeats to two members of last season’s top four in the past couple of weeks, losing to Harlequins and Saracens.

They were just a successful conversion away from drawing with last season’s beaten Aviva Premiership finalists last weekend, with Juan Pablo Socino’s last-gasp kick missing the target.

And Corbisiero knows table-topping Saints must ensure they take nothing for granted against an improving Newcastle side.

“We’ve capped off the year where we want to be: top of the league, in the driving seat and holding our destiny in our own hands, which is a nice position to be in,” said the prop.

“We’re always a big scalp for teams and Newcastle have been very close to taking two big scalps in the past two weeks.

“They’ll be looking to get one over on us so we’ve got to make sure we turn up, play how we want to play and there’s no complacency.”
