And he has urged the men who were involved in that 37-17 reverse at Twickenham to clear their heads and ensure revenge is served at Welford Road on Saturday.

Saints have suffered defeat their previous eight games against Tigers, the latest of which was that showpiece loss at the end of last season.

And England prop Corbisiero, who joined Northampton from London Irish during the summer, knows that day will be hard for his fellow Saints players to forget.

“I’m sure that could be in the back of some guy’s heads,” said the England prop. “It’s hard to not have it in your mind at all, but we’re going in there with clear heads and focusing on the task in hand.

“We’ve got to execute a game plan and get a win.”

A win, which would be Saints’ first at Welford Road since 2007, would be a huge boost for Jim Mallinder’s men ahead of a massive month, at home and abroad.

They face back-to-back Heineken Cup clashes in the middle of October, going to Castres next Saturday before hosting Ospreys eight days later.

Those games are followed by a Premiership showdown with Saracens, and Corbisiero is eager to set the tone for a big four weeks this Saturday.

“It’s a huge month for us,” he said. “We’ve got world class team after world class team and it’s a real chance to lay a marker down of where we’re at this season.

“It’s going to be a tough test so let’s get started now.”
