Corbisiero and Clark sent back to Saints ahead of London Irish clash

Alex Corbisiero and Calum Clark have been released by England and will be available for Saints’ clash with London Irish on Friday.

Neither played a part in the Six Nations opening night win against Wales last Friday, but they did return to England’s base at Pennyhill Park on Sunday evening.

However, Stuart Lancaster has opted to name an unchanged 23 for the game against Italy at Twickenham on Saturday.

That means Corbisiero and Clark have been sent back to Franklin’s Gardens, while Dylan Hartley and Luther Burrell, who both started against Wales, remain in camp.

And both Hartley and Burrell will hoping to be named in the England starting 15, which is named on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, Corbisiero, who has been nursing a slight calf injury, and Clark will concentrate on Saints’ Premiership game against Irish at Franklin’s Gardens a day later.
