Burrell ready for Saints’ tricky run-in

And the big centre is urging his team to make sure they pick up the results they need to secure a home play-off semi-final in this season’s Aviva Premiership.

Table-toppers Saints, who lost 21-10 at Exeter on Sunday, are now six points clear of Saracens and Bath.

They face Sarries at stadium:mk on April 25, knowing a win would see them all-but secure home advantage in the semi-final on May 23.

But Burrell knows that game - and the one at Leicester on the final day, which will be preceeded by a home clash with London Welsh - will be far from easy.

“It doesn’t get much tougher than the run-in we’ve got,” said the England star.

“Saracens are in fantastic form - they got a great result in beating Racing Metro, which is something we didn’t do.

“And then there’s the big derby against Leicester.

“It’s three games that couldn’t be much bigger for us and we’ve got to pick up some results and keep ourselves clear so we can have some joy in a home semi-final.”
