Zumba event in Rushden raises more than £400

A Zumba group which held a fundraising event in Rushden for a hospital men's ward collected more than £400.

Zumba group MishJ&Co held the Man Enough to Zumba! event on Saturday, May 7, at the Heritage Hall, Park Road, Rushden.

Katie Sargent from the group said: “We raised a total of £433.25 for the Benham Ward at Northampton General Hospital, which is the male assessment ward.

“This ward works exceptionally hard to get our men back on their feet when they are unwell.

“Local businesses and group members contributed to the raffle and there was also a cake sale baked by one of the women who attends the group.

“Also, thank you to Roberto, a Zumba instructor who attended to show his support and do a 25-minute session.

“The afternoon was a huge success with fun and enjoyment had by all.

“A big thank you to all the businesses and support everyone gave us, including Wilkinson’s, Northants Inline Roller Hockey Club, Northampton Indoor Karting, Alpha-Training Gym, Cizzor Cuts, Granny Bubbles Sweet Shop, AMF Bowling, business developer and coach Sue Edgar, The 80s Hair Rock Experience, Sarah’s Barber Shop, Rushden Holistic Harmony and Dantas Photography.
