Zara Phillips heading to horse trials at Rockingham Castle

Zara Phillips has made a late entry to Brigstock International Horse Trials, being held at Rockingham Castle, near Corby.

She has entered the Advanced Intermediate class, the one class which has no waiting list,

The Queen’s granddaughter is a past world champion, European champion and London 2012 Olympics silver medallist and will be bringing two horses to Rockingham Castle, Black Tuxedo and High Kingdom.

The Advanced Intermediate is one of the classes where riders can attempt to win a £7,500 hand-made British watch, crafted and awarded by Stamford-based Robert Loomes Watches. The lucky winner will be the rider who finishes the cross country closest to the optimum time.

The horse trials run from Friday (May 2) to Sunday, May 4, from 9am until 5pm.

Tickets are £10 per car on Friday and £15 for Saturday and Sunday and £5 to walk in.
