Youngsters play at major stadium

A YOUNG team got a taste of top level football after playing at one of the biggest stadiums in the country.

Mawsley Youth FC was one of 28 teams which were selected to participate in the fifth annual Topps Tiles Youth Football Tournament at King Power Stadium, home of Leicester City FC.

Mawsley Youth FC’s under-12s team was selected for the tournament and turned out to compete in their age group at the stadium, which holds about 32,000 fans when full.

Richard Carter, operations director at Topps Tiles, said: “It is great to see so much young talent from all over the country playing together.

“The annual Youth Tournament at Leicester City Football Club is fantastic to be part of and always has a huge turnout.”
