Youngsters pack shoppers’ bags for charity

A GROUP of young people packed shoppers’ bags to help raise cash for The Eve Appeal.

The charity works to raise cash to fund research into gynaecological cancers.

The group of friends raised just under £200 when they spent the day packing bags at Asda in Rushden earlier this month.

They did the fundraiser as Shannon McLeod, 17, is one of the finalists in the Miss Spirit of True Beauty competition, and participants in the contest have all been working hard to raise some money to go to The Eve Appeal.

Shannon, who was Raunds town carnival queen for the past two years, will compete in the final of the Miss Spirit of True Beauty competition on Friday, May 18.

Sarah Manciocchi, whose children took part in the bag packing event, said: “They were all really happy, they have done really well.”
