A young go-karter from Irthlingborough has been left devastated after thieves stole a caravan from his parents’ driveway containing his go-kart and all his equipment.
Dad Nick Isaac, from Diamond Drive, said he returned home from work yesterday (Monday, April 28), to find the Bailey Pageant Bretagne caravan stolen – as well as everything inside.
Nick’s nine-year-old son Finley competes in go-karting almost every weekend.
Mr Isaac said: “Finley is devastated. He was supposed to be competing this Saturday but there’s no way that’s going to happen now. I don’t know if we’ll be able to replace everything as we haven’t got the money.
“We had only had the caravan for about a month.”
Mr Isaac said the caravan was secured with two locks to prevent the theft, so said the culprits had come equipped.
He added: “Someone must have seen something. You can’t drive very quickly with the caravan so someone may have been stuck behind it on the motorway or something. Whoever took it must have had a large vehicle with them.
“It has a distinctive rear-end which has two windows on it.
“The go-kart itself is quite distinctive as well, so if people look at the photo they might recognise it.”
Mr Isaac believes the theft took place on Monday lunchtime.
Anyone with information, or who witnessed the theft, is asked to phone Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
