Members of the Corby Young Actors group have been picked to take part in an international festival for theatre-makers.
The group, made up of performers from 15 to 25, are to take part in Contacting the World, being staged next year, with young actors from Tehran in Iran, Mumbai in India and Kingston, Jamaica.
Performers from Manchester and Livingston in Scotland will also be taking part.
Young Corby Actors is made up of dancers, digital artists, musicians, poets and producers, who create work that is personal, poetic and political with a focus on exploring the place they come from and their place within it.
Held biennially, Contacting the World is a pioneering international theatre exchange project for young people involving young companies from around the globe, organised by Contact, Manchester.
The groups will come together at the Contacting the World Festival in Manchester, from July 7, to July 13.

It’s such an important part of the city’s cultural offer, especially as it gives emerging artists a platform to collaborate and perform with other international practitioners. We have a really diverse group of companies this year and I cannot wait to experience the new work that they create together.”
