Young entrepreneurs, Kraftees, from Corby Business Academy, was named the best company in the area final of the Young Enterprise competition.
The firm beat eight companies from other schools to take the top prize in the Wellingborough and Rockingham area final.
As well as being named the best company, Kraftees won the award for the best financial management in the contest, held in Weatherbys in Wellingborough.
Kraftees was set up in September last year by Year 12 students at Corby Business Academy. The company’s main product a USB stick on a wristband, has been sold at trade fairs and in school.
At the area final members of the company set up a trade stand, gave a presentation on their business and were interviewed by the judges on their company report.
Kraftees is now busy preparing to go head-to-head with the winners and runners-up from the Northampton and Daventry areas in the county final which will be held at the University of Northampton in April.
Mo Maudarbux, managing director of Kraftees, said: “It was really scary doing the presentation but it went well. We were delighted we won the area final.”
Young Enterprise link teacher, Alexandra Allan, said: “I’m really delighted that the students won best company. It was a reward for all their hard work.”
