Corby’s MP ditched the fancy Westmiunster eateries to visit McDonald’s in Corby’s Peel Centre to take a look around the franchise which has recently had a facelift.
Tom Pursglove met with local McDonald’s franchisee Glyn Pashley and his team at his restaurant to discover more about the local business and its investment in the community.
During his visit, Tom was given a tour of the recently refurbished restaurant and its kitchens and met with a number of staff who gave him an insight into how the restaurant operates locally.
He said: “I was delighted to visit McDonald’s and meet Glyn and his team for a guided tour of the newly refurbished Corby restaurant. I was hugely impressed with what I saw of the training and progression programmes, and it’s clear the positive contribution they make to our local economy, and indeed, our wider community.”
In addition, Tom found out more about the training and development opportunities available for employees, including nationally-recognised accredited qualifications such as the sponsored Foundation Degree in Managing Business Operations.
Franchisee Glyn Pashley started his career with McDonald’s more than 17 years ago and now runs thirteen restaurants across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire, employing over 950 people.
McDonald’s franchisee, Glyn Pashley added: “My team and I were thrilled to have had the opportunity to welcome Tom to the restaurant and for him to see how hard we work to ensure that we provide the best possible service to our customers every day.”
