A topping-out ceremony has been held at a new housing development in Corby.
Representatives from Corby Council, Willmott Dixon Housing and the Homes and Communities Agency gathered at the site in Boston Close on Tuesday where a mix of 26 one-bed flats, two-bed houses and two-bed bungalows are being built.
All 26 properties will become modern council homes and will be available to residents on the housing waiting list.
Work started on site in August and the development is expected to be completed this spring.
The new development is being delivered as part of Corby Council’s successful bid for nearly £1.5m from the HCA’s Affordable Housing Programme.
Council leader Tom Beattie said: “Boston Close was highlighted as an area within the borough in need of investment and is a further example of the council’s commitment to growth and regeneration, as already seen in areas such as Finland Way. We are very pleased to see it take shape and mark another milestone in its development. This will be a real improvement for our residents and we are proud to be one of the few councils still building much-needed and in-demand council properties.”
