A spokesman for Anglian Water said: “We have located the pipe but it is two metres deep so it is quite a complicated job to repair.
“We will have to continue tankering.
“There are residents in the area and it might cause some disruption and we are really sorry about that.
“Please bear with us while we get the sewer repaired.”
Burst pipes can happen for a number of reasons, but it means the water can’t flow through that section of pipe and has to find another way out.
The spokesman said it would be likely they would be tankering for the rest of the day to take the water away from the site.
It is not yet known when the repair will be completed.
