A pensioner has spoken of her shock after a car crashed into the bedroom of her Desborough home.
The collision saw a Volkswagen car smash into a bungalow in Federation Avenue this afternoon (Monday, November 25), causing significant structural damage to the building.
Val Calder, who was at home at the time of the incident, said: “I heard an awful noise. It frightened me to death, I didn’t know what had happened.
“I was sitting here watching the television and thinking about what I should have for tea.”
The 72-year-old added: “I went out there to have a look. I couldn’t stop shaking.
“My son-in-law is going to have to move all of my things into the spare room.”
The car which crashed into Mrs Calder’s home is a write-off, police say, and another car was clipped in the incident.
The fire service also attended the incident, while BT has been asked to inspect a telegraph pole which was also damaged in the incident.
