Woman robbed by cyclist in park

A 33-year-old woman was robbed by a man on a bike as she walked through a park.

The woman was walking along a path in Beckets Park towards Victoria Promenade, Northampton, when the cyclist passed her at speed, grabbed her handbag and rode away.

The victim was pushed to the ground cutting her arm badly and attended Northampton General Hospital for treatment.

The offender cycled off towards Morrisons supermarket where he bumped into another member of the public.

He was white, aged between 20 and 30, of slim build, tall, wearing dark coloured trousers, white trainers and had a scarf across his face.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the inicident or recognises the description of the offender, who was riding a green mountain bike.

The incident between 7.30am and 7.40am on Tuesday, May 29.
