A woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison for stabbing to death a man at his home in Kettering.
Susan Fox, 38, of no fixed abode, admitted killing Simon Foster, at his two bedroom flat in Albert Street on September 19, 2011.
She pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter after the Crown Prosecution Service agreed to drop the murder charge against her.
Nottingham Crown Court heard how Fox claimed she couldn’t remember using a knife to deliver the fatal blow which killed the 44-year-old as she had consumed drugs and alcohol.
Judge Michael Stokes sentenced Fox to eight years in prison after he said he was satisfied she had taken Mr Foster by surprise and stabbed him through the heart.
