The woman was walking along Rothwell Road between 12.30pm and 12.45pm when she stopped at the traffic lights near the railway bridge. She noticed a man behind her, who continued to follow her as she crossed Northfield Avenue and walked up towards Lower Street.

As she was passing the Morrison’s car park exit, she sensed someone close to her and as she moved to one side to let them pass, they sexually assaulted her, grabbing her inappropriately. At this point she realised it was the man who had been behind her at the traffic lights. After she challenged him, he walked off back towards Rothwell Road.
