Woman, 81, is freed from car after crash

AN elderly passenger had to be freed from a car by emergency services after a crash.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision on the A6 bypass near Burton Latimer during the early afternoon on Wednesday.

Police said a Fiat Tipo, a blue Mini One and a black Renault Laguna were involved in the incident.

An 81-year-old woman, a passenger in the Tipo, was released from the vehicle by the fire service and paramedics at about 1.50pm.

A 23-year-old woman, the driver of the Mini, was treated for minor cuts to her face.

The road was closed in one direction for a short period to allow the emergency services to work safely.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
