Woman, 58, dies following Northampton bungalow blaze in early hours of Tuesday morning

A woman died following a house fire in Northampton overnight.
Firefighters rescued the 58-year-old woman from a blazing bungalow after answering a 999 call to Blackberry Lane, in the Briar Hill area of the town, at around 12.45am on Tuesday morning.

Hide AdBut despite the efforts of paramedics, she sadly died at the scene.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue: "Three appliances were mobilised from The Mounts, Mereway and Moulton after a neighbour reported hearing a smoke alarm and saw smoke coming from a nearby property.
"Firefighters quickly rescued a 58-year-old woman from the bungalow. Sadly, and despite the best efforts of firefighters and paramedics, she died at the scene.
"The cause of the fire is currently under investigation but is not being treated as suspicious."
