Pokemon Go players are discovering the best places for catching the little creatures in their towns.

And now Northamptonshire Police have issued a warning against trespassing on to private property while playing the new game.

They are also warning people that, due to the current threat levels, anybody found on a police site for non-police business and without authorisation will be challenged.

In Corby, gamers say the best places to go are the town centre, East Carlton Park, Coronation Park and West Glebe Park. A Corby Facebook group has been set up here for Pokemon fans to share their insider info and organise ‘hunts’.

Kettering town centre is also a good hunting ground, as is the town’s train station. You can find out more on Kettering’s Pokemon Facebook page.

Wellingborough fans are finding the best Pokemon at The Red Well, Castlefields and around the town centre. The town has its Pokemon Facebook group here

In Rushden, Spencer Park is a good spot to visit. Local fans are congregating on this Facebook page.

There was an accidental mass gathering in Northampton on Wednesday evening when Pokemon Go-ers congregated on benches in the town centre. The county’s busiest Pokemon Facebook page is here where there are more than 1,100 members.

A police spokesperson urged players to concentrate on the real world when catching Pokémon, and issued the following advice:

- Don’t make yourself vulnerable. Don’t be tempted to take your phone out in busy or unlit areas where you could be a target for thieves

- Concentrate on dangers around you and be careful when crossing the road – don’t just focus on your device.

The NSPCC have also issued a warning. Their spokesperson said:

“Children should make sure their parents know where they are going when playing and parents should look to speak to their children about associated risks.
