Traders in one town street believe they have something for everyone this Christmas.
Whether you’re looking for a gift, festive wreath, refreshments while taking a break from shopping, an outfit for the work party or a taxi home afterwards, Wellingborough’s Cambridge Street could hold the key to a stress-free Christmas.
The majority of traders in the street are independent and are keen to welcome more shoppers through their doors in the run-up to the big day.
Ria Chambers from Ria’s Rosy Lee Tearoom said: “The shopkeepers in Cambridge Street are inviting you to come and discover what they have to offer this Christmas.
“As the street continues to regenerate, traders feel they can help you with all aspects of celebrations this Yuletide.”
Ria said there are a range of restaurants offering cuisine from around the world, providing the perfect setting for the work night out.
If you’re looking for a present on two wheels, there’s Adkins cycle shop, or you can pick up something different from Creepy Crawlies.
Rockabilly Rose the Florist can help with fresh flower garlands, wreaths and table decorations, as well as vintage and hand-made gifts.
Catherine Green from the shop said Cambridge Street was a great place to visit and added: “We are like a family, we are all really close and we all help each other out.”
She said they often make recommendations to customers if they are looking for something which could be available just a few doors down the street.
Six 40 Cabs can get you to and from the festivities while Julie Ann Clothing Alterations and Seoni clothing will help you look a million dollars.
Elegantly Matched at the top of the street sells wedding dresses, but also has prom dresses and outfits for special occasions.
Karen Fletcher from Elegantly Matched said: “It’s getting busier up here because most of the shops are filling up now.”
Mel’s Perfect Planning and Sweetbitz are also there to help you plan your celebrations with family, friends and colleagues.
All of the traders said it has been a good year but they are hoping 2015 will be even better.
A number of new shops are due to open soon, and Jodi’s Jamrock Food has been so successful in its current location that it is moving to bigger premises in the street to keep up with demand.
