Children said goodbye to a summer of fun at Swansgate this week, as giant landmarks from across the globe arrived in Wellingborough, rounding up the centre's free summer events.

Some of the most famous landmarks in the world were on show in Wellingborough as part of the Swansgate Shopping Centre’s Journey Around the World promotion.

Scaled down replicas of the iconic tourist spots placed in the Wellingborough shopping centre gave customer a taste of exotic locations whilst on staycation.

Shoppers could get up close and pose for photographs next to world crowd pleasing attractions including New York’s Statue of Liberty, Paris’ Eiffel Tower and England’s own favourite, Big Ben clock tower.

The massive models provided a monumental finale to summer in the Swansgate with visitors being given a free photograph of their whistle-stop worldwide tour as a souvenir.

Throughout the summer young shoppers have been able to experience a hands-on trip around the world .

Visitors to the shopping centre included exotic animals and creepy crawlies.

Guests could particpate in a safari jungle treasure hunt as well as craft workshops.

Lindsay Tickner, Centre Manager at Swansgate Shopping Centre, said “It’s been a fantastic summer of fun travelling to the other side of the globe with jam-packed events arriving at Swansgate.

“Our younger shoppers have had plenty of fun, and we look forward to welcoming them again soon.”
