Homeless people in Wellingborough will be warmer this winter after a donation of rucksacks full of outdoor essentials to the Daylight Fellowship Centre.

The centre received the donation from the community committee of The Rotary Club of Wellingborough this month, with a number of people homeless over the festive period.

Each rucksack contains a low temperature sleeping bag, foam mattress, dry bag, survival bag, cutlery, mugs and plates and some thick socks.

Committee member Bob Lymm said: “This is the start of a major project to help the homeless, not just this winter but in future years.”
