Schoolchildren from Croyland Primary School took part in a litter pick organised by Wellingborough Homes for the second year running.
More than 50 Year 5 pupils helped to clean-up over a quarter of the 40-acre Croyland Park in Kingsway, working in pairs alongside school staff.
The children aged nine and 10 managed to fill 25 bags of rubbish during two sessions, with items picked up including an old boot and the head of a golf club.
Geoff More, Wellingborough Homes’ acceptable behaviour officer, said: “It was a really positive day and the children thoroughly enjoyed working as a team.
“They were surprised by the amount and type of rubbish they collected and realised just how much trouble litter can cause.”
