A town centre pub is to close next week ahead of a £140,000 refurbishment.
The Horseshoe Inn, situated on Sheep Street, Wellingborough, is due to close on Monday, January 6, for three weeks while it undergoes a major transformation to improve the overall look and feel of the pub.
Licensee Debbie Dexter, who has managed the pub for nine years, said: “There will be major work conducted throughout the pub and it will look completely different with a fresher and contemporary look whilst retaining the traditional feel by keeping the darts and pool facilities.
“The pub is currently one of Wellingborough’s premier live music and sports venues and we will build on this by introducing a daytime offer. This will include a lunchtime menu featuring light snacks as well as coffees and teas.
“The plans look fantastic; we will be offering the community something different and a range of facilities to suit all. I look forward to seeing the end result.”
Punch Taverns’ Partnership Development Manager, Julian Searle, added: “It’s great that Punch can invest in their pubs and we are working in partnership with Debbie to position the Horseshoes as Wellingborough’s leading venues that can provide great drinks and food in the day with music and entertainment at night.”
