Peter Bone has spoken of the security lockdown in Westminster after a serious incident this afternoon (Wednesday).

The House of Commons sitting has been suspended after two alleged incidents nearby, with reports of an armed man attacking police before being shot.

Mr Bone said: “There are lots of police here but we are all OK.

“We do not know what’s happened but there seems to have been an incident on Westminster Bridge.

“Some MPs were apparently told to take cover.

“We are in the tea room and sitting has been suspended.

“Offices have been locked and Parliament is in lockdown.”
