The torch may have left Northamptonshire but one county man was on hand to help it on its journey today, Tuesday.
Matthew Usher, 40, from Wellingborough, carried the Flame on a boat travelling across Rutland Water from Whitwell Harbour.
Matthew was selected through the Lloyds TSB campaign for getting involved in swimming coaching at his daughter’s swimming club.
Today the torch travelled through 12 communities on its journey from Leicester to Peterborough.
It began the day at the National Space Centre as the Torch was delivered by Jet Pack in a special intergalactic themed community event, before travelling from Leicester to Quorn on the Great Central Railway.
