Daniel Stanley Bradshaw, 27, of Fulmar Lane, Wellingborough, was found guilty at Northampton Crown Court of two counts of raping a child under 13, two counts of touching a child under 13 and one of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. He was sentenced today (Friday, November 25).
Bradshaw has been placed on the sex offender register for life.
DC David Charman, who led the investigation, said he was pleased at the length of today’s sentence and added: “I’d like to commend the courage of the victim who bravely spoke out against Bradshaw and I hope they can start to put events of the past behind them and rebuild their life, now that justice has been done.
“Child safeguarding is a priority for Northamptonshire Police.
“We take all reports of child abuse extremely seriously, investigate all allegations thoroughly and will do all we can to bring offenders to justice.
“Anybody with any concerns about the welfare of a child or who wants to report current or historic sex abuse should call 101 and ask to speak to a specialist officer from our child safeguarding team.”
