Wellingborough man arrested after man suffers serious injuries in early morning assault


A Wellingborough man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after an assault in Cambridgeshire.

Police were called to an incident in High Street, Brampton, shortly after 2am on Monday (December 21) after reports of an assault.

The alleged offender was taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough where he was remanded in custody.

The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

He is now recovering at home.

This is being treated as an isolated incident and at this stage officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the assault.
