Tingdene Homes, which manufactures residential park homes and holiday lodges, has just been given planning permission to extend its production facilities in Wellingborough.

The firm, based on the Finedon Road industrial estate, currently employs more than 200 staff, but the expansion will see about 40 new jobs created across the many production disciplines, stores and offices.

The extension is due for completion in 2017, and once completed, bosses hope it will improve efficiencies and increase productivity with two production lines instead of the current one.

It is hoped this will increase output, which should cut the time customers have to wait for the products which are in high demand.

Sales and marketing director Nick Burgess said: “We have seen a big increase and interest in holiday lodges over the last number of years from some major players and also from key new developments.

“All the indicators are that this will continue to grow over the forthcoming years in line with the desire for families to own their own holiday home and parks to develop their hire fleet as the staycation market continues to expand in the UK.

“The extension is not just about increasing production, it is also set to become a state-of-the-art factory that will set itself apart from others within the industry.

“The new factory and associated stores and offices will also ensure quality efficiencies of build and continual improvement of the working conditions, both of which are something that the business is dedicated in providing.”
