Cadets and staff gathered to celebrate as Macauley Tinston, 19, of 378 (Mannock) Squadron Air Training Corps, was promoted to Cadet Warrant Officer. This achievement comes in the same month as he marks seven years at the Squadron.
The role of Cadet Warrant Officer is a prestigious one and comes with the highest level of responsibility a young person can achieve as a cadet.
Promotion means Macauley will now take on a more active role in helping to run the Squadron in addition to supporting the junior cadets.
The promotion was the result of many years hard work and followed a gruelling interview process.
Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson OBE, South and East Midlands Wing ATC’s commanding officer presented Macauley with his new rank badges.
Macauley said: “I feel truly honoured to be promoted to Cadet Warrant Officer.”
