Wellingborough’s All Saints CEVA Primary and Nursery School has been awarded a national quality mark for their religious education (RE) classes.

The school gained a silver award in the nationally recognised RE Quality Mark (REQM) which rewards high quality learning in religious education.

Subject leader for RE at All Saints School, Val Griffiths said, : “This was a rigorous process which helped us to think about what we are doing well in this subject.

“An important part of the REQM is that an assessor visits the school and talks to the pupils about their experiences in RE such as telling the assessor ‘RE is about answering big questions’.

“The fact that children were involved in the process was invaluable as it is very evident, very quickly whether they love and actively engage in RE.

“Our REQM enables us to drive forward the message that we are committed to ensuring high quality RE takes place and its benefits.”

Head Teacher, Emma Johnson, added : “We are delighted that the hard work of the children and staff has been recognised with this silver award.

“We will keep developing and be aiming for Gold.”
