Kettering bride-to-be Anna Paladino is to go on her dream Caribbean honeymoon after winning a £4,000 wedding in a competition.
The 27-year-old can now afford to book a trip to the Dominican Republic after she won a wedding in a competition run by the Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel in Corby.
Anna, who is due to tie the knot with fiance Philip Clark in May, was first out of the draw made on Sunday August 23.
The mother-of-one was overjoyed when she won the wedding prize.
She said: “This is amazing, I never ever win anything let alone anything like this - I have never even won £10 on the lottery.
“This means everything to us, we have been saving up to get married for years now but this means we can actually do it.
Credit controller Anna has been with chef Philip for eight years.
Seconds after winning she called Philip who was working at the Toro restaurant in Rothwell.
She said: “He did not believe me when I told him we had won, Philip thought I was winding him up.
“We are both so thrilled to win, the hotel is beautiful and we can’t wait to get married here.”
The competition was organised to mark the £1 million renovation and refurbishment at the hotel.
More than 100 people were in the garden of the hotel to witness the draw, which was made live on Radio Corby, and to attend the unveiling of the new gazebo for weddings and other functions.
Hotel general manager Warren Browning said: “It is a terrific prize and we had lots of entries.
“Anna and Philip are worthy winners and we can’t wait to work with them to make their wedding a very special day.
“It is a privilege to be able to help people make their dreams come true. It is great to know that thanks to this prize they can have a fabulous wedding and a lovely honeymoon.”
