Rain may ease off a bit this afternoon, with Sunday expected to be “a much improved picture”, according to weather experts.
Forecasters at Pitsford Hall Weather Station say rainfall today (Saturday, July 14) could ease off into showers and become lighter as the day goes on.
A spokesman said: “It has already been raining for a good few hours across Northamptonshire this morning, and we are expecting this rain to continue throughout much of the day, perhaps easing off during the afternoon to be replaced by showers.
“Temperatures today will climb to around 16C with the wind generally light and from the north or north-west.
“The showers should become more isolated and lighter this evening and everywhere will stay dry overnight as lows fall to around 10C.”
The Weather Station is predicting a better outlook for tomorrow (Sunday, July 15).
The spokesman said: “It will be a much improved picture tomorrow. The county should remain dry throughout much of the day with some spells of sunshine, although there will remain the risk of one or two showers during the course of the afternoon.”
Forecasters are predicting there will be rain in the early hours and later morning on Monday (July 16) but this will turn to a “scattering of light showers” during the afternoon, with everywhere becoming dry by evening.
Tuesday (July 17) is set to be “cloudy with occasional outbreaks of rain”.
