Police are urging people to lock their doors and windows at all times following a number of burglaries in the town.
The latest occurred at a house in Alken Close, Wellingborough, overnight on Tuesday.
An offender entered the house through what is believed to have been an insecure downstairs front room window.
A laptop was stolen from the settee and a handbag, including bank cards, was taken from the kitchen table.
Detective Inspector Nick Lyall said: “Unfortunately, far too many people leave windows and doors insecure.
“Burglars are opportunistic and if they come across a door or even a window that’s been left unlocked, it’s an easy target for them.
“Please lock up at all times.”
