Warning after attempted burglaries

RESIDENTS are being warned to keep their house and car keys safe after an attempt to steal a vehicle.

There were two attempted burglaries in Lovap Way, Great Oakley, between 2am and 2.55am today.

The offender entered both properties and attempted to take a car from the driveway of one of them.

He was disturbed while searching the ground floor of the house next door.

The man was white and was wearing a dark top with a hood.

A police spokesman said: “We are reminding people not to leave car and house keys in visible, easily accessible places close to front or back doors, and to lock all outbuildings, garages and sheds while they are not in use.”

Witnesses are asked to call the police on 101.
