The people of Stanwick need your votes to help them win £50,000 to create an allotment and community garden.
The parish council-led initiative, Stanwick Outdoors, reached the final stages of ITV’s People’s Millions competition and voting opened at 9am today for the fight against another project to claim the cash prize.
The result will then be announced on the early evening ITV Anglia West News tomorrow.
Parish clerk Jenny Hodgson has been working hard to generate support in the village.
She spoke to the Northants Telegraph earlier this month and said: “I believe we can do this, it’s a very good project.
“People can see the reasons for backing this and it will be a great asset for the village.
“We hope the people of Northamptonshire can get behind us and vote for us on November 25.”
Parish council chairman Amanda Michel said: “Stanwick has grown by 30 per cent in the past few years and there is a high demand for allotments, but we currently have no community growing facilities at all to offer.
“We need people to vote for us to turn this patch of rough grassland into a vibrant community facility.”
The money will be used to provide a safe off road access, car parking, water supply, fencing, raised beds for those with restricted mobility and seating in the social area.
If Stanwick Outdoors is successful, it is hoped people can be digging in on their allotment or in the garden next spring.
To vote for Stanwick Outdoors you can call the landline number on 09015 228202 or the mobile number 6228202 and select option two.
A maximum of 10 calls can be made per phone line.
Call costs are limited to 15p per call providing you call on a BT land line or the mobile number via your mobile.
If you have a problem with the mobile number, it could be because your phone may be blocking it as a premium number or the line may be busy.
