Volunteers are needed to manage Nene Valley Community Action’s new Volunteer Centre which will open at 8 West Street, Rushden in January.
The centre will be open to the general public, advertising which voluntary posts are available in the local area.
People will be able to browse the opportunities and be given details on how to contact the relevant organisations to take things forward.
A spokesman for Nene Valley Community Action said: “We are looking for competent individuals who have the ability to communicate with people on all levels and can undertake discussions on a one to one basis giving advice and assistance with individuals looking to secure suitable voluntary posts.
“There will be administration and general office duties to be covered along with helping out with setting up of the new meeting room for any bookings that are made.
“Training will be available with supervisory support on hand, but computer skills will be needed.
“It is expected that the centre will be open three days a week from 10am to 3pm and volunteers would be needed to cover on any of these days.
“If you would like to get experience of working in an office environment and talking to members of the public then contact Jenny Rolfe, Volunteer Co-ordinator at Nene Valley Community Action on 01933 396382 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.”
