A family vineyard held an open day yesterday (Saturday, September 21) to show off one of Northamptonshire’s biggest wineries.
The New Lodge Vineyard, in Earls Barton, was set up by Joyce Boulos-Hanna in 2000 – and she still runs it with the help of her children and grandchildren.
“We are established and we are getting to be known,” she said of the vineyard, which has 1,500 vines. “This is the first time we have had people able to look at the vines.”
Joyce’s daughter Sara added: “This is to show people the grapes on the vines. Now they can see them prior to harvest.
“People are surprised there’s such a flourishing vineyard in Northamptonshire.”
The vineyard has also asked people to get in touch to help with harvesting later in the autumn.
