Vile Kettering baby abuse '˜probably the worst case we've seen', say NSPCC officers

Child protection officers who investigated Kettering child abusers Rocky Uzzell and Katherine Prigmore say it was probably the worst case they have ever seen.

The couple were jailed at Northampton Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday) for a torrent of abuse against their five-week old daughter Isabelle in 2014.

The abuse left her blind, unlikely to ever walk or talk and robbed of an independent future.

An NSPCC spokesman said: “This barbaric pair have committed such dreadful abuse that they have robbed an innocent baby of her sight, independence and ultimately her future.

“It speaks volumes that child protection officers, who so often have to deal with upsetting cases of abuse, said that it was probably the worst case of suffering that they had seen.

“It is only right that this cruel couple, who inflicted such appalling damage, are now behind bars.

“Anyone who is worried about a child can call the NSPCC’s Helpline on 0808 800 5000.”

Uzzell, 29, was jailed for six years with two-and-a-half years on extended licence.

Prigmore, 24, was jailed for 28 months.
