Children grabbed the chance to meet some ‘creepy’ animals at Irthlingborough Library last week.
Forest Floor Reptiles, which is based in Rushden, brought a selection of its animals to the library, as part of a summer-time reading scheme by libraries in the county.
The ‘Creepy House’ reading scheme encourages children to grab some books and have a read during half-term.
A number of events have been held over the summer as part of the scheme to entice youngsters into the library, and library bosses thought that some reptile-based fun fitted into the ‘Creepy House’ theme perfectly.
Forest Floor Reptiles brought a number of reptiles to the event on Thursday August 29.
As part of the scheme, children who read six books over the summer are presented with a medal and a certificate for their efforts.
A presentation evening will be held on Monday September 16 at Rushden Library, to award the children for their efforts.
