Shoppers have been charmed by the visit of four penguins to Corby town centre.
The birds have spent the afternoon today (Monday, December 22) in Corporation Street, delighting people of all ages.
The Humboldt penguins, which are native to South America, are all captive-bred of captive-bred parents.
Corby town centre manager Dan Pickard said: “Their popularity has grown and it’s a good way to introduce wildlife to people who wouldn’t otherwise see it.”
The penguins do not get anxious around large crowds or by flash photography. Keepers also say they live in a breeding group and enjoy an active social existence when they are not out on assignments.
