A group of cheerleaders from Kettering and surrounding areas are gearing up for a national competition.
The Cheerleading Academy is taking part in the Future Cheers International tournament at the start of July, and they are seeking sponsorship ahead of the event in Bournemouth.
“I am really excited, but a bit nervous,” said stand-in captain Alice Williams. “We have worked so hard. We are like a family.”
Coach Robyn Newlands added: “It’s the first time we have been to the Future Cheers event. We have got 27 cheerleaders going to the competition with ages ranging from eight to 22.”
The group trains every week at Southfield School in Kettering.
